From the Highlands down to the south coast, there's a good chance there's a venue within a sensible drive or train ride of where you are.
These places are deliberately low-key from the street. You usually wouldn't spot one walking past, and that's by design. But once you're through the door, they're welcoming, well-run spaces. The hard part is just knowing where to look.
